Our Aims for our children are that:

  • They are provided with the building blocks to enable them to aspire and achieve through resilience, determination and confidence.
  • They explore their curiosities through creative opportunities in all areas of the curriculum.
  • They feel happy, valued and safe within an atmosphere of respect and tolerance.
  • They learn, acquire knowledge, skills and understanding within a safe, stimulating and motivating environment.

Values

At Water Leys Primary School, we believe in a strong community partnership between parents and carers, a sense of lifelong personal and academic development and a commitment to excellence. Our school will continue to grow and change, but we will always remain true to our vision. By ‘working together, learning forever’ we will ensure our aims are met.

C.A.R.E.

We want all at Water Leys to care for others, for themselves and for the community in which we live and beyond. Care forms the basis of all we do at our school.

Collaboration

Only by working together and collaborating effectively can we achive our goals. All we do at Water Leys depends on effective collaboration between pupils, staff and parents at Water Leys.

Aspiration

At Water Leys Primary School, we look to develop within our children  the knowledge and cultural capital they will need to prepare them for their own journey through life. We will endeavour to show our pupils the endless possibilities that stretch before them. Together we will all aspire to be better!

Resilience

It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every child at Water Leys believes that they have the ability to learn and the self-assurance to solve problems and overcome difficulties. Together, we know that we will overcome our challenges and positively address our mistakes, whilst recognising these as opportunities to learn further. This is why we say 'mistakes are great'. Our pupils should be positively encouraged to celebrate the feeling of achievement gained from the new doors they can open, challenges that are overcome and proud of a job well done.

Enquiry

Our school days will be filled with joy, enquiry excitement and fun. It is our duty to create vibrant memories for our learners to carry with them for life and will support them by giving them the tools for a love of life-long learning forever. Our children will develop a desire to learn that is born out of the magic of exploring, learning in a brilliant and stimulating learning environment. Learning will be made relevant so that children can see the purpose for the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
