ENGLISH - AUTUMN 2

Some children have predicted the story well already but we only immersed them into the story with: a key on a string, music notes, violin case, shawl, horse and the night sky.
We will continue to read on and explore to find out the true meaning behind the book (a story of freedom, music, and seeking refuge) and the adventures within.

Rose Blanche - Ian McEwan

Rose Blanche was the name of a group of young German citizens who, at their peril, protested against the war. Like them, Rose observes all the changes going on around her which others choose to ignore. She watches as the streets of her small German town fill with soldiers.
The children in Year 6 will study the book and write not only a diary but also a bravery award speech linked to this book.
Keep a look out for some fantastic writing coming this way...
