Introducing Our New PTA! (Parent Teacher Association)

What’s Happening?

We’re excited to announce that Water Leys is relaunching the PTA! The Parent Teacher Association is a group of parents, carers and school staff who want to inject more fun into school life by organising fundraising activities.

 What’s a PTA All About?

  • Bringing People Together: Helping parents, carers and school staff connect and work as a team.
  • Supporting the School: Organising fun events and activities for students and families.
  • Raising Funds: Running fundraisers to buy extra things for the school, like new books for the library, sports kits and equipment, playground equipment etc

What Will Our New PTA Do?

  • Plan, co-ordinate and run school fairs, discos and family events.
  • Organise things like cake sales and other fundraisers.
  • Help out with specific events.

Who Can Join?

Anyone with a child at the school, plus teachers and staff. Grandparents and other family members are welcome too—everyone’s invited!  The more the merrier!

How Will It Work?

  • The PTA will meet as a group to share ideas and organise fundraising events.  You might want a formal role like the chair, secretary or treasurer or you may prefer to take a less formal role and help organise events and support them on the day.
  • The PTA will meet regularly to plan events and chat about what’s going on.
  • You can help as much or as little as you like—every bit helps!

 Why Should You Get Involved?

  • Meet other parents and make new friends
  • Help organise events which your child will enjoy.
  • It’s fun and rewarding!

 How Can You Join In?

  • Come along to our first meeting on Tuesday 16th September at 2.30pm
  • If you can’t make the meeting, join us for our first event of the Autumn Term (more information to follow after the meeting)
  • Volunteer to help out (even just once in a while)

We’d love to have you on board!

Now that you’ve heard more about the PTA, if you’d like to join us, please let a member of the school office team know.  If you are able to attend the meeting on Tuesday 16th September at 2.30pm please inform the office so a suitably sized room in school can be arranged.

My School Fund

Join the My School Fund initiative to help boost our budget

Water Leys is part of the My School Fund initiative. This innovative scheme allows us to be able to boost our school’s budget with your help.

How does it work?

Parents, guardians and carers can sign up to the scheme free and start earning cashback on the things they buy in participating retail stores, including Sainsbury’s and Argos. As you spend, you will receive 2% cashback in the form of eGift vouchers that can be redeemed in participating stores. By linking your spend to our school on the My School Fund website we’ll also earn 1% cashback on your spend.  Add that all up across our school’s network of families and together we can all make a big difference!

How to get involved

Visit myschoolfund.org to register free and link to Water Leys. From there, everything you spend in participating stores will go towards helping boost our budget, plus your own!    Sign up today at myschoolfund.org
